I think just about every Korean says that, my wife being one of them. Maybe that's why there are so many kong-joos and wang-jas. Laughing

In one of my seminars at grad school, we had one of those "go around the room and introduce yourself" kind of things.

The guy sitting next to me, with a straight face, starts going off about how his last name was Korean royalty and that, in fact, one of his direct ancestors was a descendant of Confucius himself.

Hard to follow that one up, but the other guy next to me casually mentions that if you go back enough generations, practically everyone is related to any famous name you want to pick.

I thought the Korean guy was going to kill him.

My gf's family name is Ho, (definatley not Oh, its got the h-sounding letter than the o-sounding letter in it) she tells me its very rare and means that she's related to an Indian princess or something...
