well, the Cebu Air website has some fantastic rates, depending on when you're going. I'm considering Jan 17th-31st Incheon-Manila for 350,000 won incl. taxes (140 thou there, 180 thou back). There are cheaper and more expensive rates, just play around with the dates. |

Yeah, 432,000W round trip to Manilla, Christmas day to January 3rd. Not too shabby. Now I just need to sort out the local travel... probably Manilla to Palwan...
Ahh, very exciting! |

| Boracay is awsome but I probably wouldn't stay a whole week. After 4 days I felt like I had seen the entire island, taken all the tours, gone snorkling etc. I guess its different for everyone. I get bored just sitting on the beach. Check out the cockfights on Sunday. |

You can definitely find a flight for cheaper than this. Don't forget you'll need to book a flight to whichever island you choose and that is probably going to run you about W60,000 if you do it in the Philippines. I got my flight to Manila for W400,00 on www.nexttour.co.kr and a flight to Kalibo (closest airport to Boracay) for ~W50,000 through Philippine Air in Manila. But really, if you have about 2 million won to spend for airfare and everything you'll be more than fine. Also, if you're looking for the green just get into a taxi in Manila. Pretty much every taxi I got into offered me weed or a girl to go shopping with. I made the mistake of telling one taxi driver I was going to Boracay and he was on the phone trying to find a girl to go with me. |

| I also recommend going before Christmas. The kid carolers are great. They have instruments they make out of random scraps of metal and do weird poppy versions of Christmas carols along with little dance routines. It's a little depressing, considering their circumstances, but it's really charming, nonetheless. |

| I really want to go to the Philippines (Palawan, Bohol, Boracay) for break but I have no one to go with. I don't want to fly solo! Any takers (as long as you aren't a freak/facebook is your friend)? |

NO WAY IN HELL UNLESS YOU WANNA END UP IN A THAI JAIL.
The police in Laos, on the other hand, aren't paying attention to it, and there are towns thriving on the stuff. Cambodia to some extend too I hear. |
Thai police are difficult to impossible to pay off, as far as indonesia, forget about paying off the police with anything less than $100,000 US. In Laos and Cambodia what happens if the policies there change amoungst the police? What if the police there don't want to be bribed for some reason? |

I shouldn't have written anything because I have no personal experience of this in SE Asia and am talking through my hat. I do have co-workers who have smoked to their heart's content in northern Thailand and didn't have any problems, as they stayed away from stronger substances and didn't try to import or export anything.
Maybe the poster was really talking about arugula and we're talking about this for nothing. |

Ha... arugala- that's the one.
Found I can get the airfare down to like 380,000 round trip if I shorten my trip by two days. Still can't decide what island to do, though. Pala-whatever sounds really nice, but I hear it's a bi tch to get to. Maybe Bolah or something... Get to Manilla late on Friday, go out on Saturday night, go to whatever island on Sunday, back to Seoul the following Friday... |

Bohol doesn't have the beaches quite as good as Boracay, but it is a heck of a lot larger and more variety of things to do. A bit cheaper too, I have heard.
I stayed there for a bit, and stayed at Bohol Diver's Resort. A decent room for 1600 peso (43000 won) a night. There are cheaper places too.
