if my sources are correct.. white day was origonally a japanese tradition to get rid of all the unsold chocolate from valentines day. now korea has taken it and etc etc etc
the 1 that gets me is peppero day.. the rest of the world is partaking in rememberance/armistice day and the koreans are happy cuz they can hold up 2 peppero sticks and make them look like an 11

i felt a little bad after typing that.
it just hit me that these guys do not usually share important days with the rest of the world, they are just being themselves and remaining isolated.
so.... these days are special to them and who i am to rubbish them.
i'll try to remember the thought i had before i dump on koreans in the future... still, it doesn't excuse the rudeness in public but i think i will be a lot more tolerant in the future.
lets see how it stands up, i think i just caught a slim glimpse of the light. |

If you really feel bad about the previous post, you could "edit" it. |

Yes. But in order to cover your ass, you should then always buy flowers and chocolate, both on days when you're supposed to, and days when you're not. You can't go wrong. |
Personally I'd prefer to agree with my partner at the beginning of the relationship that corporate days are out the window, and that gifts should be spontaneous.
I'm sorry, but corporations won't dictate my relationships. They're about as romantic as an old Korean woman with kimchi hanging out of the side of her mouth as she feasts at mach speed. |

You shouldn't- Peppero Day is the lowest of the low in terms of corporate marketed 'holidays' (or special days or whatever), at least until "Nike Day" and "Sony Saturday" come to pass... |

i just pictured some of my close korean friends and how happy they are on these days.. i thought of how upset theyd be if i said these 'special' days are meaningless and stupid.
i have been giving them heaps about these days for 2 years and after i typed the original message i pictured 1 of my korean friends upset at the fact i rubbished the holidays (not upset at me but if they actually understood these holidays are just marketing ploys and they were suckas for playing along).. 90% my friends are aver 40 and while guilty of rudeness they are still kind, geniunely nice people..
i thought if these days make them happy.. let it be |

Why do the boys get chocolate and we are stuck with candy? Unless caramels count. Then that's OK. |
katydid, why do I think of Dana T-t-TTease who when I took her to see Matrix 2 aboatt how in Peterborough she went around topless on a Saturday night?
I only bring this up becuase she was quite fond of telling me that she came across a stat that said 58% of women prefer chocolate over sex.
Make it lemon pie, Gord.

Wow. Will you have covered the issue of corporate days and gifting by the third date, then? Does this issue come before or after sex? Do you establish your negative feelings about celebrating public holidays before you relinquish your honour?
Please. |

Would this be a bad time to point out that the majority of the world attach no significance to November 11 because the majority of the world had nothing to do with "the war to end all wars".
To say that "the rest of the world is partaking in rememberance/armistice day" is simply making things up to support your belief that you are the centre of the universe and not someone else. |

Back to the subject of White Day, how sweet! The guy who owns the moon-gu down the street just gave me a armful of candy flowers. And he's cute AND speaks English. Way to show up my non-romantic husband!
