O-M-G.. I read that Wendy's failed in Japan, but I wish it could have been here and failed so I could have eaten there for the last year and a half.

I have had adult students tell me that Wendy's color scheme is considered unappealing or unlucky for Korean tastes. I do not know if this is true or not. Lotteria always seems garish to me.

I worked at a Wendy's. It's true that yesterday's hamburgers become today's chili! But I suspect many chains do this. The chain seems inconsistent to me. The one I worked at in Alberta was spotless, but I've been to some that were poorly kept and made me a little sick.

Wendy's chili meat is old hamburgers they couldn't sell...so they turned it into chili.

Yes, which makes far more sense than just throwing it out, don't you think? They take the meat straight from the grill before it becomes overcooked, put it in a pan, wrap it, and place it in the refrigerator with a date on it. Then they take it out, mash it up, mix into a pot of chili ingredients and cook it for a number of hours. If that seems too disgusting to handle, there's always Applebees and Fridays, where they microwave a lot of the food!

Of course you can always purchase your own meat that has been treated with carbon monoxide to keep it pink and make chili at home, but really, chili made with the aforementioned process doesn't sound all that bad for $1.
