So a guy who's name refers to a fictional character with gold genitalia think G Dragon's name is moronic? Laughing

Hey there is nothing fictional about The GoldMember's family jewels!

The only reason I know G Dragon exists is because of this website. I am usually quite adept at avoiding Korean pop culture icons. I suppose that's because I don't teach kids.

easy answer (and the right one)

Google Adam Lambert and you'll see that it does happen in America, in fact it happened just a month ago. No criminal charges, but essentially the same scandal. G Dragon and his handlers are just copying a western artist. Nothing new for Korea, and certainly not for G Dragon. He's already caught up in a plagiarism dispute with Sony.

EXACTLY right. Except Lambert doesn't pretend to be something he's not (though he stayed silent about it during Idol for obvious reasons)

unlike Gay Dragon who has flames literally shooting out of every orifice.

that said I can't really blame him (same principle as Lambert/Idol) , not if he wants to have a career in the Korean music business.

I recently ran across that infamous Korean singer sex tape, ( made by her manager/sex partner at the time w/out her knowledge) from several years back. It was softer than soft porn, yet the poor girl was literally ostracized and had fruit thrown at her during performances

yes, shades of the gyopo guy from PM2 who's now back in the USA helping out at an auto body shop.

about the same amount of "talent" Smile

that said I do think Rain has a modicum of "talent", and most certainly charisma.

Yeah, I remember Billy Idol wearing hot pink jumpsuits and teddy bear earrings all the time. Laughing

I think you'd have an easier time comparing G-Dragon to drag queens.

Wink ...I wasn't comparing him to Billy Idol.
I happen to like Billy Idol...I still listen to some of his old stuff.
I was making a specific comment that I think G-Dragon, or his manager, copied that blond hair and smirk, used in Heartbreaker, from Billy. Wink

I'd pay to see and hear Gay Dragon attempt to do "Rebel Yell". The drag queen version would be precious Smile

Anyone calling themselves a moronic name like "G Dragon" should be prosecuted!

I think it's a stupid name, but at least I know now where it comes from. His Korean name is Kwon Ji-Yong. Yong means Dragon, so his name is Kwon G-Dragon. OK, fair enough name I guess.

Well, because of this dork, there are going to be thousands of little Dragons running around Korea. In my school (hagweon) there are two boys who have picked the name DRAGON. Fabulous.
I prefer King or Prada...

Let's pressure K-pop stars to have classy and normal English names, like Jessica and Tiffany from Girl's Generation.

Haha Gay Dragon Smile
