Good mexican was never available in Seoul, at least not considering the extortionate prices. Passable stuff includes
La Casa Loca in yeoido/gangnam
Casa Maya in Hongdae (many disagree with me here)
On the Border in sinchon/gangnam
Tomatillo in jongno/gangnam
Choi's Tacos in sinchon (people disagree here too) |

Honorable Mention!
Uzbekistani restaurants in Dongdaemun. Somewhere behind the massive shopping complex Doota, you'll find some tiny streets where there are some Uzbekistani restaurants hiding.
If you want a truly different dining experience and a chance to hit back some bottles of Russian (Baltika) beer, you should search these restaurants out. They have quite a varied menu, and I can say the BBQ chicken is quite good. |

i second the restaurants in dongdaemun. if you can find the lotteria near exit 13, walk past it on the opposite side, and take your second right. walk 3/4 of the way down and then look up. there is a cafe on the second floor with a red sign. they have yummy lamb kebabs for 3,000 won each, and the most amazing stuffed peppers that are just like crack. my husband loves the cabbage rolls, and they have great borscht. we go into seoul once a month and we always eat here at least once!
i think Petra's also deserves a mention. it's close to the noksapyeoung station up the hill across from McDonalds. best homous with lamb i have ever tasted. great mediterranean food with lotsa stuff for vegetarians, too. |

How do you get to this restaurant?

There's samgyeopsal restaurant in Jamsil "mukja golmok" that's out of this world.
Strictly a Korean family/businessman-type place, it's probably one of the best places in Seoul for what they specialize in.
The only problem is they give you too much food. Not a place I can go to now as I'm trying to get faster for a Muay Thai kickboxing match. |
