The ai in Hyundai is at the end.
So like other asian words, bonsai, samurai and shanghai, most people in the west pronounce it
Hyun-die |

| Or 'hi-yun-die'. It looks as if it should be pronounced that way and it sounds better that way too. |

I would buy a Kia K5 or K7 if they were available in the States. I really like the current Equus line up. The Genesis sedan is nice but I think it resembles either a 7-series or Bentley way too much. I can't tell because it looks like a real life photoshop of both cars put together.
Heck I'm even starting to see some individuality out there on the roads. While most that try have the typical rice mods (stickers) some of the more affluent drivers have upgraded wheels, coilovers and a real performance exhaust. |

The K7 is available in the States as the Kia Cadenza. |

| That's Hyundai's fault. If they spelled it in even a slightly phonetic way, it wouldn't be so hard to pronounce. Before I heard someone say Hyundai correctly, I assumed it was pronounced 휸다이. Kia is spelled phonetically, so is Daewoo. |
No, iot that, it's that they pronounce it Heyeundie - instead of Park Ji Sang (as a short u sound would be) he becomes Park Ji Seung.
Then then commentators dish him. |

Oh ok...it's been awhile since I last looked at Kia's lineup in the States. My parents have a Sportage and Rio 5....not my flavor. |

I'm in the States currently and the Kia Soul is my next car, and no, their advertising had nothing to do with it.
I tell everyone that the design of Soul's front end looks like it vomited, but it is, nevertheless, a cute car.
There are a few Korean models that tend to score very well on crash protection rating. |

Everytime I see the word cadenza, I keep reading it as credenza as in the furniture. Which makes me wonder why anyone would drive around in a cupboard. I suppose that may explain why Kia is thinking of getting rid of their car names:
"Kia Motors is considering changing its U.S. lineup nomenclature from product names to alphanumerics.
. . .
Kia's lineup in South Korea and some other markets already is partially alphanumeric. In Korea, the mid-sized sedan based on what was known as the Optima is named the K5, a large sedan known as Cadenza in some markets -- but not yet sold in the United States -- is named the K7, and the Forte likely will become the K3."

Well, if all you care about is drag racing your family car, then apparently the Kia blows away the Camry
|
Well before the divorce we did drive around a Porsche Cayenne Turbo. So yeah I do care about drag racing the family car. lol
I like the K7 but I'm getting a Ford F-450 Harley Davidson edition when I get back stateside just so I can tow my car/bikes/trailer around. |

After looking at the video I really hope Kia realizes that Camrys don't sell because of their acceleration or handling...my 03 Camry SE was one of the most boring cars I have ever sat in...but it handled day to day life without issues for over 150K miles and still going.
BTW she kept the Camry. |
