There you are, locked in the "My Shorona" closet for eternity, unable to marry until this matter gets cleared up.

You're right. It was "the song preference that dare not speak it's name" for me. I've been on the down-low pretty much all my life, to tell the sad truth. I used to go to certain bars, if you know what I mean, places where they'd play My Sharona on the sound system ten times a day, and hang out all night eating nachos and drinking beer while I waited for the song to come back on. Of course, I'd tell all my friends that I was just going there for the food, the ambienece, whatever, but deep in my heart I knew what was really drawing me to those miserable pits of repressed despair.

As well, whenever some of my less tolerant friends would make derogatory jokes about My Sharona, of course I'd be the one laughing the loudest. Sad to think about the dark depths of denial that some people can be driven to by societal sharonaphobia.

I feel your pain. I too, long for those days and often sit in my car playing My Sharona, Jenny (867-5309) and other 80's songs on my 8-track tape player; for hours on end. I often end up soaking the sleeves of my ruffled in tears and drinking beer. Sometimes Elvis sits with me, too.

As a young'un I would switch "Sharona" with "Scrotum".
It would not work. Sharona is 3 sylables, scrotum is only 2. Why would you sing a ballad about your scrotum anyway?

You neither watched watch the clip nor saw the original Cheech and Chong movie.
