| You both assume too much. Not everyone has come to Korea fresh out of universty. 10-12 hour days walking fields to gather soil samples in the hot sun one week followed by non-stop rain the next week was much, much more enjoyable and less exhausting than teaching kids for 35 classes or more each week. As well, 8 hour days stocking shelves in a grocery store or worse yet, 8 hour nights doing the same was less exhausting than this. |
you assume too little. i have never had an 8 hour job in my life.
10-12 hours walking fields? what a bunch of fun.
yea.. opening a box and putting the contents of a shelf.. really hard job.
this is a walk in the park for me. my last hakwon was 3 10 hours days and 2 7 hour days.. still a walk in the park.
i did 12 hour days working as a special order purchasing clerk for a wholesale food company that supplied sydney and the sydney olympics. i had a line of people waiting to give me orders. lunch was a walk out to the food truck, grab a sandwich, have a smoke and eat my food while on the phone..
these jobs here are the auto pilot thing. do your prep and flick the switch in class.. i'd take a walk in the field over most jobs i have had in the past |
