the korean authorities traced the IPs of those who spreaded conspiracy rumors like "the US did it", and found out that they logged in from either china or north korea.
it's so obvious that a north korean sub torpedo-attacked the south korean frigate chonan as a retaliation for the damage of their patrol boat in late last year. they always retaliate... it's been a pattern. korean people had been worrying so much about time and method of the next norht korean retaliation since a n.k. patrol boat got fired upon by a south korean patrol boat when the n.k. boat crossed the border called nll in last november. and n.k. did it again... big time.
anyways, the korean government has always bragged about its navy being equipped with the most technologically advanced war ships in the world. but look what happened? they failed to detect a small sub and 46 young sailers (born in 88, 89, 90) had to die. the government must do something... 1) stop doing anything that could help kim jung il and his company financially, 2) some military action |

I had students tell me that the tank which killed the two Korean schoolgirls a few years back near the DMZ actually reversed and ran over them again and again repeatedly while the tank crew laughed... |
..and american beef is genetically modified to kill Koreans stone dead with one bite (but not affect anyone else). |

| Before long the misinformation being put out was not limited to internet message boards and print newspapers, but was on the average Koreans television screen as well. The networks repeated much of what was already available on-line and is wasnt too long before the networks produced sensational misinformation of their own making. The most infamous example of misinformation was when the major news network MBC aired footage of someone claiming to be a former Korean Army tank driver who was able to prove in an interview that the American soldiers in the AVLB intentionally ran over the girls and then ground guided the vehicle back over the bodies again to make sure they were dead. This interview entered into the common mythology of what happened that even to this day, much like the KATUSA story, many Koreans believe this story to be true. |
sickening

| Such sensationalism by the Korean media over this accident really should not have been unexpected. Korean journalists do not report the news in the sense that people in West expect. Citizens from western countries expect their news outlets to serve as a check and balance on the government and big business and provide factually based news. In Korea the media often reports what the government and big business want reported as well as what British journalist Michael Breen calls, speculation, trial balloons, rumour, and deliberate distortions in the name of ratings. |
This is so sad!

| The sensationalism by the Korean media of the armoured vehicle accident was made quite clear when on June 29, 2002 North Korean patrol boats deliberately ambushed a South Korean Naval vessel patrolling the maritime border between the two countries. Six South Korean sailors died in the attack and the South Korean government, NGOs, and media did everything possible to minimize the deliberate murder of six South Korean sailors while continuing to sensationalize the accidental death of the two school girls. |

I have to ask. Why exactly would that be funny? |

| Of course, that famous Korean persecution complex always bubbles up during any crisis here. Yes, of course, everything is America's fault. If it rains tomorrow, that is America's fault. If a Korean farts in the subway, oh...it's the fault of the US. Freaks... |

That could be possible. If the belief that there was a Jesus who spread a message had never come about, there may not be a Christian religion now and the last two millenia would have occurred a lot differently. So yes, when approached from a rudimentary "butterfly effect" perspective, Jesus may have indeed caused the sinking of the Cheonan. |

Jesus was probably annoyed that the Koreans had built a better boat than the Arc |

Just sickens me how so many Koreans will believe the most absurd anti-American propaganda lies:
In 2002, I had some of my university students (and this is a good university) swear that it was totally true that the vehicle drivers laughed and celebrated their kill and the backed up and ran over the girls again for fun.
I was absolutely stunned that someone could believe something so absurd and implausible.
I asked where they got that information and the answers were either I read it on the Internet or My senior told me. |
