To the snob who said you're dirty or whatever I've already forgotten.
BOOM ROASTED!
Figured I'd stoop to his/her level seeing it's all they'd understand. |

| To the OP, as far as I can tell, STD tests are unfortunately not covered by our health insurance. You're looking at at least 90-100K every time you're tested. If you want to test for HPV, it's more. To me, it's a cost worth paying. For those of us that aren't celibate, of course we should be regularly tested. Regardless of condom use. If you think you can tell a clean partner by looking...hahahaha...good luck. Those judgmental arseholes can go eff themselves. |

| Would seem to me that the line " that time again" denotes an application for a new job or visa or something of that nature. I've only had sex with my wife and she with me... however, I had to have an STD test for my job in Korea. I've had to submit to similar tests for other positions as well. |

It looks like most people don't know about this but there is actually a clinic in Guro-gu in Seoul that does free STD testing. It's a non-profit clinic funded by donations. They don't really speak a lot of English, so you may want to take a Korean friend with you if you don't know any Korean. You will probably also have to wait quite a while in the queue behind all the other people getting free treatment, but it is free. So if it's about money and less about time you might want to check it out Here are the details of location and contact numbers: http://www.korea4expats.com/article-migrant-workers-hospital.html |

| OP, I wouldn't recommend trying to claim it with your medical insurance. In Korea there is no doctor-patient confidentiality. If you go to the doctor or buy meds and you claim it on your medical insurance, count on your boss knowing about it. They can call up the doctor's office or pharmacy and get a record of it all. And IF you have any medical condition (be it an STD, the flu or even a broken bone) the doctor will tell your employer about it. These things can be used against you. Koreans don't regularly get tested for STDs because they (like an early poster on this thread) have taboos against it. They think that only a dirty and degenerate person would need them. |

| International Clinic in Iteawon. A laid back Kyopo doctor who speaks English without an accent. Confidential. On the main drag left of the Hamilton hotel. |
He is not laid back - he is LAZY.
and he does have an accent - an American accent.
Also, the place he sends your blood to be tested is out of date and doesn't do the blood-tests properly.
I would recommend spending your money some other place that actually cares about YOU and not your MONEY, because thats all they care about at the "Itaewon International clinic". |

Such as where? Oh and if you don't claim on your medical insurance, how can you stop them? Don't give them your alien card?
THERE'S NO DOCTOR PATIENT CONFIDENTIALITY?????????????
edit: I called the Itaewon clinic and he said that in Korea (not just at his clinic) your results are always private. |
