I believe that everyone born within a specified date range is affected by galactic predictions found in a box next to the comics section of daily newspapers. Rethink each day you have lived by reading the predictions at the end of the day and attaching various experiences to them and you'll see how true they are.
Anyway, as a Hermetic Gnostic, I believe astrology is one of the wisdoms of our universe, so it feels like religion bashing. I won't flag the thread, though. |

I haven't myself seen much evidence for large numbers of people who do believe in astrology. I've met the odd wingnut who was obsessed with it, and a whole lot of people who read their horoscope for amusement, but they don't actually put much stock in it. In other words, I think most of us are astrology agnostic: perhaps planets or years of birth do influence our personalities or lives in a way we can't see yet; but it's extremely unlikely.
Maybe we only remember the people who bug us about astrology and assume there are more people into it than is true? I'm not writing to attack the OP, only to ask why we're all assuming people do believe this. |

This could be very likely. There are a few reasons I suspect the number of people who accept astrology is higher than a few wingnuts here and there, though. From personal experience in Korea, at all of the schools I've worked in, there was at least one foreign teacher who fully believed in astrology. In the "what's your sign" thread, there were several posts talking about which signs people are compatible with and how their capricorneology brought them to Korea. |

| When combined with blood type and the year your were born, the possibilities become staggering. Also remember, a person born late in the sign doesn't share the same characteristics as a person born early or in the middle. Why are some horoscopes for the same sign in the same month completely opposite depending on what publication you read? |
