yeah halong bay is pretty cool. with only five days i would just go on a 2 day cruise through the bay. you can do 3 day 2 night deals where one night is on the boat and the other is on cat ba island. cat ba is cool and there are some cool little islands they will take you to as well. if the weather is rainy or cloudy though you wont get the full experience of halong bay. you can go to dog mile in hanoi and eat dog and drink tons of snake wine if you fancy that kind of thing. when you get to hanoi airport you can find people who will give you a free ride to hanoi if you stay at their guesthouse and book a tour through them to halong bay. this isnt a bad idea if thats what you are going to do.

This is great, Do you think it would be overall worth it should I go through with it for the time I have? Applying for visa now but haven't paid anything, I'm still procrastinating.

yeah i mean you could do hanoi in 5 days no problem. basically for 5 days you need to pick one place(city) to explore. if you have never been to vietnam then yeah, go to hanoi and check it out, then if you like the feel of it you can always go and travel down the coast the next time you get a chance. everyone has their own opinions on vietnam. some like the north, some like the middle, and some like the south. either way it will be fun and worth your time.

Very reassuring. I never imagined I would be able to check out anything more, really, but if that's all I need then that's all I will do. Plenty of money, after all. Cheers!

Same crowd as Kho Sarn road in BKK except they are all riding motorbikes.

Shocked And I was wanting to go to India.
That can't be true for the whole place, this needs to be refuted! I don't want to cross off India just yet. Sad

I'm going to Nepal after my contract for a month. Try there if not India. My friend went to India for 3 months and said it was amazing. Even the fact that a man crouched down and started unleashing a number 2 in the streets as they were having a conversation about hiring a bike. I mean, who wouldn't want to experience that?

You can kind of experience it in China but it's frowned upon over there more, now the western civility is coming into play, taking away their freedom to do whatever they want, wherever they want.
