I have been here for three month or so and have been sick on and off the whole time. At home in Canada I rarely get sick other than a common cold once a year. Does anyone have any tips on how to avoid the Seoul sickness? I do the multivitamin and Vitamin C thing daily but this apparently isn't enough. |
good diet (no fast food), exercise, avoiding too many late nights, avoiding too much coffee, avoiding too much drinking, and not getting miserable and depressed. |

I think the advice to wash your hands as much as you can is the best you can get.
Did you have the flu each year as a child? Did you sweat through the fever without drugs?
After 32 or so I never got sick again with a fever, I think it's just something we all go through. If you're young, maybe under 25 it is expected. |

Anti-bacterial products create superbugs. All you need is soap and water.
I also came from Canada, also rarely got sick, and also got over any sickness rather quickly. I got sick several times in Korea throughout the year. It's certainly the new bugs.
But my biggest tip is to get a humidifier during the winter! I'm from Vancouver, and we enjoy a relatively humid winter. But in Korea, it's incredibly dry. I was getting throat infections constantly in the winter.

Vitamins and bulgaris in the morning.
Soju and beer at night.
Good long sleeps.
Works a treat for me. Haven't been sick in three years, or nothing worth writing home about. |
