You don't need an LOR. In fact, once you leave the country the LOR is worthless.

Sounds good. So just so I've got everything straight.

I left, thus resulting in my single entrance visa becoming void. I'm free to get a new one.

I had no ARC card at the time so no ARC card was handed in - possible problem?

Is my name now on some sort of recruiter blacklist? Laughing

Why does soviet-man mention points 4 and 5?

Will I be flagged?

What does flagged mean?

If I were to go to a new recruiter should I mention this little episode? I'm thinking no but I don't know what kind of information they have access to.

Anything else to consider?

You DON'T need a LOR. Even if you had one, it would be useless to you.

Not cancelling your visa on the way out would have been a problem, but if you didn't apply for an ARC, your visa would have normally expired in 90 days anyway. Has it been 90 days since you first entered Korea on that E2 visa? If so, you're clear.

The one thing that CAN be a problem, although I haven't heard of it occurring in recent years, is that immigration might not give you a until at least 6 months/9 months/all of your original 12 potential months had expired - whether or not the visa was cancelled when you left. Like I said, I haven't heard about that happening in a long while, but it used to be very common 10 years ago - almost a rule of thumb back then. But in that case, they aren't going to refuse you entry when you arrive here at Incheon. They'll refuse to give you a visa issuance number. So you won't even get the E2 visa at a consulate or anything. You'll know right away if that's the case.

Much appreciated. I could live with being refused the issuance number but being turned back at Incheon would be an absolute nightmare.

for future ref: when you are home, get a new passport. this should make all problems disappear as they have no permanent number with which to identify you. (and they will assume that there were several other Mr. Gazpachos born on the same date--- just like there are scores of Kim Yong Seoks born on any given date)
