I only managed to go on Saturday afternoon. Saw a few SookMyung professors give some very badly organised presentations first. I mean, credit where credit is due, they are presenting at an academic conference in a second language, but they seemed to ramble and therefore didn't get to finish their presentations properly. I would have thought it wouldn't be too hard to at least stay on topic and finish the presentation.
Anyway, I then went and saw Jodi Crandall who had some excellent practical ideas on helping learners negotiate identities in the classroom. Patricia Duff's presentation was very interesting but perhaps not so helpful for my teaching practice. And the final plenary panel had some good points but overall was too vague to be really useful. |
