If you are working with GEPIK then contact one of the Kyopo's( Korean American) who works in the Kyoyukcheong(board of Education. Try to get yourself transfered to another school. It's obvious your school doesn't like you. It's easier to get transfered to another job than find a new one.

My contract is GEPIK but I was hired independently by my school and my contract starts at an irregular time (I came here last October). Would that affect things any?

They don't tell you after you ask, plan on leaving. Simple as that They come up to you later and say "Oh, we decided to re-sign you," you just say "Sorry, I've made other plans."

Well I gave them until the end of this week and they're still not giving us a clear answer. My co-teacher said something about the after school program teachers being able to stay until August, but we haven't been directly approached about that at all. Then she said something about maybe not hearing about anything until January, which means I no longer have a job at this school anyway.

I'll be handing in my letter of resignation sometime next week.

I'm looking for something new now but I'd like to know how to contact the GEPIK Board of Education for a transfer?

Also I asked this before but I'll try again: worst case scenario and I can't find anything right away, is it possible for me to get my pension if I'm coming back to Korea for another job?

And how would I go about finding a good goshiwon or other cheap monthly housing in case I come back on a tourist visa to complete the job search?

I am usually a very patient and tolerant person so my tolerance level for BS is pretty high but my god this country and my hakwon boss are clearing it daily. I love kids and teaching and exploring Korea in my free time but the constant drama at work and my psycho neighbours are making it not seem worth the hassle. Maybe trying a new country would be the best option Confused
