I was in that situation in my first year in Korea. It was a new school. I had a few small problems with the owner not following the contract, but on each occasion I pointed out that she should follow the contract and the problems were resolved quickly. Overall, the experience was great. I have worked in 3 hagwons (the other 2 were large), and the job where I was the lone waygook was easily the best of the 3. The Korean staff were more friendly and helpful.

I ended up solo after my co-teacher did a runner, it was atually very good. I was left alone to do my thing. Had very few meetings with the director and all of my co-teachers were fine.

The area you're going to sounds good as well.

You do get the star treatment being the only westerner, or I did. I've also heard some bad stories about the clicks and friction that can happen at multi teacher places. Basically its the luck of the draw

But I certainly wouldn't hold off of signing because of it. To be in a good area is I think the most important thing of all.
