Many thanks to those of you with positive feedback and encouragement. I appreciate it.
Especially dethe, Illysook, Countrygirl and Cerulean. Illysook is exactly correct, by the way. The kids will be sharing space with my kids and grandkids, watching TV shows in English with them and playing nintendo games in English with them. And yes, the Korean teachers in my school are on board. And yes, they will and have helped. What they don't have answers for are the questions I originally posed.
For the rest of you, I think it's sad that you all seem to believe there is no value an older man can provide to young children other than the lump in his pants. I suppose its not your fault, as the media loves to sell papers and ad space by filling their content with prurient stories and therefore you believe it simply must happen all the time. It's really sad that you find the thought of kids sharing time with any male upward of your generation is only a path toward sexual molestation. I suppose that if I were a woman posting this, you'd have no problem with what I consider doing? If that's true, you've just admitted you're very biased and sexist. You should examine your values and think about what your media-filled life has done to your sense of right and wrong. What kind of world is it that men would have no place nurturing children in other than a tightly controlled, video-monitored classroom.
I am married, by the way. My wife is a Korean who will help with the front-end but not the travel. Does that reduce the creep factor for you? Not that I give a rat's rear for what you think. I was only interested in answers to the questions I posted. |
