in '09 it wasn't that tough to bring in. No TSA fondling, no body scanners.

And there's still no TSA fondling going on if you fly to Korea from another country other than the U.S.A.

like Canada?

Fake, PR stunt from a has-been band of aging, 3rd rate rappers. Why does Korea attract all these shoddy bands (Weezer, Oasis etc) while Japan gets the good acts?

What the netizens don't seem to get is the old ladies got the Korean marijuana culture going on. It's medical marijuana smoked in old places with a red swastika and bamboo flag pole, but it's still illegal though old people are excused from breaking laws and acting rude.

Really? How do you know this?

Yep, I smelled it many times near 2 of them places nearby and the convo came up when an English speaking Korean friend played a 90's song on his car stereo about dealing weed. I asked if he knew what the song was about and the brainiac told me so we talked about marijuana smoking. The professional salary man traveled, studied, worked with US military at Osan, is easy going, loves everything American, and knows far more than a typical Korean. I asked about smelling it near these places I walk by every day. It's not only mugwort, but it might have other herbs mixed in. He straight up
told me all about the old ladies smoking it for pain, but that if we, younger people, were caught or told on with a positive urinalysis, we'd have to go to a center for normalcy.

Sounds like your pal needs to go to a center for normalcy!

I think they were on a stopover to Russia, from what was mentioned. Probably playing a festival there.
Sticky Fingaz acts a bit these days, not much into music.

What is really funny is in the article I don't think they realise what the albums title means... BACDAFUCUP... sound it out

LMAO! I still believe it's true what he told me though. Not too far fetched as weed can grow and be smoked here. It's not Mars even though it's a land extremely poor in natural resources. Marijuana and adjummas using it for pain is very possible and is so. Heck, they had marijuana and opium for thousands of years here just as they did in China. It was a part of China until about 60 years ago. I'm not looking to smoke it, but I find it interesting that old Korean ladies enjoy it.

Last time I was flying out of Incheon some uniform dude ran a sniffer dog over me - complete with lots of satisfied smirks from the surrounding Koreans.

Kinda rude really. Insuating that I would be dumb enough to bring drugs into an international airport (WTF).

By "part" I think he meant, was an aspect of. As in, marijuana was an aspect of China.

just my interpretation, not an endorsement of the idea. I'm clueless as to whether marijuana was grown there or not.

They don't look paranoid at all!

Come one Weezer is pretty big in Japan. Rivers is married to a Japanese girl and they tour there all the time.

Weezer, Onyx and Oasis haven't been any good since the 1990s. Who's coming to Korea next? Coolio and Color Me Badd?
