I feel like the higher and higher you go in most schools the more you get people who don't want to be there, who are there because their parents think it's important they learn English.

Like when these kids are in kindergarten and prekindergarten programs across the board these kids are fun. And from there on the older the students get less and less of them are having fun. First graders and second graders it's still a really high percentage, but it drops off from there so that by like middle school a low-level course will often be just joyless fucks, and if you're in a hagwon you may have limited options to making it less difficult on them.
