I have a good dentist in Kangnam, she is good but she is not cheap. You'll like her - Dr. Kim Min Hee.

I went to see Dr. Kim Min Hee today about my chipped tooth. She's very nice and personable. Her office is stocked with state of the art equipment and its very clean. She uses gloves and novacaine for procedures as well. She also tells you everything thats going on or will happen and doesn't mind answering any questions.
Unfortunately for me, what was going to cost about 20k for some resin on a slightly chipped tooth is going to cost me 900k for 4 gold-inlay fillings. I went to the dentist less than a year ago in Canada and he said everything was fine. Dr. Kim doing a rountine look around today found 4 massive cavities spreading out from under old fillings. I was skeptical at first but she has this mini camera that takes super-closeups of your teeth and they displays them on a computer monitor for you. It was pretty gross how advanced some of the decay was and I was even more pissed that the Canadian dentist I had been going to for years could have possibly missed it.
Anyway, I'm getting 3 gold inlays at 200k each and one white ceramic thing at 300k. Bleah and I was just getting out of debt too.
Anyhow, I highly recommend her. |

Ermmmmm.... it might just be a different approach. Dunno much about here cos I haven't been but in Japan it was definitely prevention rather than cure. First time I ever went to a dentist there, she said "Okay, you need all your wisdom teeth out. Can we do it next week?" Needless to say, I still carry them with me. Load of baloney. I never really trusted her after that and my last visit was pushing three years ago now.
I think I'm coming round to the same mindset I have with doctors... go when you think you have a problem. I mean, you don't see us all heading off for a medical every six months do you?
I don't want to insult your intelligence because clearly neither of us are qualified dentists but how are you sure she isn't just making a nice earner on you by flashing some well positioned shots of your face at you. Let's face it, my teeth look grim from a distance let alone close up! |

Cavities are kind of hard to mistake for anything else. Y'know, disgusting black holes in your teeth. She showed me the close-up shots from different angles. Honestly, there was no question in my mind. |
