Alright been to:
*Kyeongsangnamdo (Live here and been all around - Climbing Jirisan the highlight)
*Kyeongsangbukdo (Highlight was Andong)
*Jejudo (2 times- i really like it, doesn't feel like Korea)
*Jeollanamdo (I've done a few excursions - definantly a little behind the rest but it is a great place to explore)
*Chungcheongnamdo (Cheonan independance museum was cool)
*Cheongcheongbukdo
*Gyeonggido (the suwon fortress plus Everland are highlights)
Yet to go:
*Jeollabukdo (want to visit Miasan and that fortress there)
*Gangwondo ( Seoraksan is a goer)

I disagree, it is very laidback, especially out of Jeju city, just don't go in the 5 day summer holiday window you should enjoy it, I've been once in summer vacation and while it isn't crowded, it is a lot better when there are no people around. It was cheap as well, for 2 of us, a hire car, food, hotel for a week was about 700 000 won so thats not bad for 2. |

Kyonggi - yes. Lived in Suwon for 18 months and Yongin for 1 year.
Kangwon - yes. Taebaeksan, Odaesan, Soraksan
Chungchongbuk - no. I did plan to go there this weekend to Songnisan but the last minute company outing pre-empted that.
Chungchongnam - yes. Guess where the company outing was? Stayed at a minbak next to the sea. (Is that the Yellow or West Sea? Wylde?)
Cheollabuk - no
Cheollanam - yes. Mokpo
Kyeongsangbuk - yes. Kyongju and environs
Kyeongsangnam - no
Jeju - yes. Once. I didn't find it crowded. Rented scooters and rode around the island.
The 7 cities - yes. Been to them all. Even Ulsan. |

| Don't know about the islands, but it's been my experience that wherever one goes in Korea, it's still the same place: sign-buildings screaming their advertising, veggie-trucks screaming their wares, the same architecture (if one can call it that) everywhere. Frankly, it's not an interesting country after a week or two, but it's been very very good to me. |

| I've been to four cities (not counting going straight onto the bus after arriving in Inchon...): Seoul, Cheonan, Suwon, and Icheon... yeah, that's it. And Suwon and Cheonan I've only been to once. |

You should visit sometime.
You just missed the spring events in South Gyeongsang province: the Tongyeong International Music Festival, the Jinhae Cherry Blossom Festival at the nice castle by the river, and the Dinosaur World Festival in Boseong.
But the summer is the best time to visit Namhae Island, with a unique coastline and the best beach on the southern end. The best time to visit Geoje Island is after the Monsoon season, when there're waterfalls galore, even into the ocean at a beach. |

| I'd like to, sometime. During my first contract here (18 months) I tried to get to several places but the 6 day weeks really put some restrictions on that. Last year I was simply too lazy. This year I'll see what I can do to get to more places. Maisan, Songnisan and Jirisan are high on my list first off. |

Two weeks ago, I went to Mokpo and completed the puzzle. However, I still haven't visited Daegu, Kwangju or Ulsan. I will make those trips sometime soon. |

But you've been to Gyeongju? It's more significant than the three you just mentioned.
And though you've been to Mokpo, I have to say it was the least impressive area of that province to me. Boseong has a great green tea valley, Wolchulsan has a great hike, a nearby Buddhist temple is revered by the Japanese, there's a traditional folk village in the south along with several natural hot springs. Mokpo is a great leaping off point to some great islands, including the westernmost Korean isle of Hongdo and the southern islands around Wando. There's so much more to South Jeolla province than Mokpo. Check it out again sometime. |

Just did this fantastic trip on Saturday to the heart of Jeollanamdo before it started pissing down rain on Saturday night(glad I didn't go on Sunday)
Anyway, I went to Nakan (����) Village about an hour from Suncheon. They had a big cultural festival with all old style stuff going with that drum dance and everyone was dressed up in the old style. Had a great day.
Also went to a temple called Songnisan(???) which was so gorgeous and green.
I love travelling in this country and the drive there was great as well.
Didn't see another foreigner all day which was a bit sad. You guys are missing out on some good stuff. |

Songnisan is a National Park in Chungbuk province. The temple there is called Beopjusa. And yes, the park is stunning.

Ditto. Did an excursion to Magoksa/Gongju/Buyeo with wifey and her family this weekend. The weather didn't exactly cooperate, but they loved it. The drive through the countryside was brilliant. Wifey's Mum said she hadn't realised the Korean countryside was so green.

The plan was to go to Hongdo or Heuksando, but due to the high winds, the Ferries weren't going out there. So, I ended up going on the only Ferry that day. A small island named Gosando. Spent about 5 hours out there walking around. It was pretty nice to walk around on a quiet little place like that. But I will definately return.
Yeah... also been to Kyeongju. Rented some bikes and toured around the place. Pretty fun actually. |
