It was worse because I had to do it. I'd taken him to the vet earlier in the day for his follow up, and they gave me some more meds. I begged them for an inhalant to make putting him down if I had to at home easier, but they said no. Only injections. They said wait a few more days. Well, he got really bad after hours, so my boyfriend and I were forced to do it, and with no prior experience, we messed it up and he suffered for a good 5-10 seconds. I feel horrible. I know how to do it now, if my other guy is in the same situation, but I keep crying, thinking about his last moments of terror and agony.
When I visit home next, I'm picking up some ether or something from my mom's dog's vet. He already said that he'd give me some.
Now, all I can do is love my other little one for the both of them. |
