I thought that this whole process was to stop people from using fake diplomas. If Korea accepts copies of fake diplomas, this whole process become a pointless hoop that we have to jump through.


None of it makes sense. Just costing us time and money.

It would make sense if they asked us to send/take our diplomas and transcripts to local consulates for them to verify if they are real.

Or Immigration could merely authenticate say 1 in 8 degrees, randomly, and have punishments severe enough that people would be less likely to submit forged documents.

There's a reason I don't traffic Heroin: 10 to 30 years in the slammer is a sufficient deterrent.
