So there are rumors on this forum that people got a visa with an arrest on their CBC.

Please tell us how you did this or send me a PM.

Please don't post any hearsay or second hand stories.

thanks,

On two occasions when I applied for a private high school and a public school position in 2008 and 2009, I was issued an E2 visa despite my possession of marijuana charge from the time I was 18 and in senior high school. I pointed out that it was a summary conviction of a $50 fine and not a felony. The amount of grass was worth under $5. Also, my prospective employers pleaded on my behalf and showed Kimmi 2 of my reference letters- one from a principal and the other from a public Ed supervisor - which helped sway the officials to decide in my favour. However, in 2010 EPIK rejected my application because of this conviction, though the Toronto Catholic District School Board had no problem with it when it hired me, I told those xenophobic racists. Since then, I've been teaching in China so as to avoid all the nonsense job applicants in Korea have to go through to get a new E2 visa. Mine expired before I had a chance to renew it back then by landing a job before it was time to leave. Why bother returning to Canada only to wait 3-4 months for another CBC and try my luck again.
