The same thing could be said of countless generations before ours. Things may be getting worse in some places but they are certainly getting better in others. Just ask any Korean if their grandparents were born in easier times.I think your final statement about being raised by loving people etc. is a valid one. The problem it seems more often than not, the reality is the opposite, which means life won't be easy for decent children surrounded by hordes of low-life. Agreed. This is why I think it's great when people decide they don't want kids and then carry through with that. The problem is people who don't really want kids but have them anyway.

If you visit England, teenagers are getting more brainless and criminal by the second. Go out late at night at your own peril. The chavs have taken over the asylum. Never been to England. But I know that Americans look back at the 1950's as the good old days, yet many people who were over the age of 40 back then felt that the youth were out of control.fadedgirl - Will you marry me please? I don't plan on ever having kids. I prefer being the aunt or occasional babysitter.

It is quite simple, if you don't want kids, go get snipped. The woman who chooses to marry you would have to accept you for your blank shooting self.

I'm reminded of the scene in Idiocracy where the intelligent couple wiffle-waffle over having children over and over until they die, while the incredibly stupid couple pop out one rugrat after another eventually resulting in the evolution of the human race into an incredibly stupid one. Great movie.

Excellent movie. But I still think (in reality) a couple without kids have much more fun.

Plus, I just hate responsibility.

I probably won't have kids, but that doesn't mean that I want a man-baby. In my mind, there's nothing worse.

Every person wants' kids'

Think about what all humans seek, everyone wants to feel this "pleasure" ( maybe not at first, but eventually) and everyone wants' to see thier "form" ( ie being) carried on past new life.

It is your "intent" whether not you realize it; is another thing.

This is why the economies of many of the world's leading countries are falling apart. After too many generations of adults having it easy people are unwilling to grow up and take on responsibility. A generation of man-babies who want to play X-box and dress up on Halloween instead of open up a savings account or raise a family.

I've never had the desire to have kids either. I want me and my man to blow our money travelling and having fun, not splashing it all on mini-me. I would be a bad mother, never giving my children the priority and attention they require.

Knowing my luck, I'd probably end up giving birth to a future serial killer anyway, so it's just one less hassle for me and society Cool

Would you consider marrying me please? If you were mine, I'd give you the world and kiss the very ground on which you tread.

Wait a minute.....are you beautiful?

Embarassed If not, where's the delete button everybody?!! Help!!!! Laughing

How about the converse "I have a job... I think I'll take a bong rip and play World of Warcraft"? My life is based on hedonism, not love for a bundle o' joy. I don't care about raising kids, that's not something I would enjoy.

Though you seem to assume that I have a problem with any of that stuff. I could care less what the great economies and leading countries of the world are doing. Nothing is going to change in my lifetime, and I can accept that I don't care to be responsible for kids. When I die, so what? It's all pointless anyways, one may as well have as much fun as possible while they're alive. Having kids and raising them in a great family in the suburbs is not something that would bring me pleasure.

Nothing wrong with doing what you enjoy rather than feeling a joke of a civil obligation. Some people have strong evolutionary instincts to bear children (which scares me when I see it in women).

I enjoy doing other things- including not wearing a tie everyday. I'm still an adult.

What? You mean you're over the age of 18 and you're not managing your 401k on a daily basis while looking up CNN Politics and checking your portfolio? And you're not even thinking ahead for when you get married and have to get a mortgage? For shame, you should know that right now you need to be planning ahead for when those hospital and refinancing bills start showing up. Or maybe you'll just never be a *sniffffffff* REAL grown-up?

Quick simple pleasures like bong rips have their place. But there are other pleasures that require more effort and are more rewarding. Why not do it all?

You may not want to be stuck at home with your kids on a Friday night but it beats being the creepy 40 year old at the bar that all the 25 year olds are laughing at.
