| Truncating "diploma" to "dip" annoys me as much as truncating "speedometer" to "speedo." Yeah, I can see how it was done, but I think it makes you look like a diploma in a speedometer..... |

| Of course you are right. Just shootin' the breeze and was hoping to hear from people who might be on hiring committees and have made these calls...thanks for the sensible advice. |
Withnail, check your PM messages. Gave you a little info and asked a few questions that I'd like you to provide some info on - Thanks. |

Publications and teaching vid demos?!?!? wtf
For a ESL teacher?!?! Are they crazy? lol |
At some unis, you aren't teaching ESL. You are teaching people how to professionally use the English they know. This includes, paragraph and essay structure, voice and body language tactics, and persuasive theory. The best positions in Korea won't go to people without publications and good demos. |
Why the hell do you need publications to teach 'paragraphs and essay structure, (writing 101) and 'voice and body language tactics' (speech 101)...and how many 1 year contract uni instructors in Korea are teaching 'persuasive theory' whatever that even means? |
