I dunno ... maybe we can give the poster the benefit of the doubt. Maybe we can also assume that if they're a big enough boy (or girl) to ask the question and take privates, then they're willing to take the risk. We're all old enough to decide for ourselves whether we're going to teach privates (or have sex, for that matter) and I don't think that there's anything wrong with being as informed as possible about a decision like that. |

Before seeing this poll I always thought it was odd that foreigners were constantly going on tourist visa runs which in turn filled their passports.
Immigration officials are not so naive as to what is going on. Sure, they let the foreigners through at the airport, but I think that anyone with X amount of tourist visas will be marked as suspicious and eventually will be stopped and interrogated and will have their banking information shown to them
"But I really like Korea, that is way I always come back."
"Really? Thank you. But you say no job. Where is coming from?"
No matter what is said at this point, the banking information shows exactly where the money is coming from.
Those of you who feel that it's against the law and goes against privacy remember one thing. We are not Koreans, so the bank manager will have no problem giving immigration information on any waygok who has an account. I know a teacher who was legally working here and decided to make extra money. He was doing quite well and thought there were going to be no problems as he had an E-2, so no visa runs. Well, one day he was called to immigration and they showed him his banking information and asked how he could live on a couple of hundred thousand won a month. He gave them a song and dance, but they did not buy it as they already knew the truth. Again, they are not a bunch of naive people.
Keep in mind that the teacher was being paid in cash and using that as his spending money.
Anyway, I say all this because the majority of people picked people as the reason for being caught, when in fact it could be something as obvious as too many visas. As for the guy I knew who was caught for being stupid with his money, maybe someone told on him but we'll never know as immigration never told him. |

I know a teacher who makes close to 4 million a month working privates; that is one uncomfortable bed  |

If the Roman Cathokic hierarchy didn't want to face numerous lawsuits, they should not have shuffled Father Geoghan from parish to parish, covering up his pedophile predator practices.
The good news is, and Romans 8:28 coming true, it all worked for good-the Roman Catholic Church is in disrepute over this, and Father Geoghan is DEAD.
