In the last comment, I was not trying to thump my chest on experience. In part, I wanted to go the other direction.

Experience usually does count for something.

And when a co-teacher is given responsibility for teaching a block of the class time, and the teacher has experience teaching ESL, they should be given the authority to do it. They should have control of the material - until they prove they can't do it adequately (and thus their experience means nothing).

I'd say that even if both teachers were experienced.

In my case, there is a new ESL teacher giving me responsibility for a chunk of the class but coming in at the last minute (from time to time) telling me "no" to this or that in my activity - which requires me to modify or dump things I've prepared and had ready.

Anyway, I'm fine now....

As I said earlier...I've vented and moved on...until next time....

The job overall is good.

Except I had to come in this Saturday for a special event....
