I think we see naked ambition differently. Quitting an important diplomatic post in order to challenge your boss for his job is naked ambition, in my book. In fact, that would be a fairly good text book definition of the term. (Besides, Ms Pelosi is in her 70's. I wish you hadn't put the mental picture of her unclothed in my head at 6 in the morning. My day is not going to go well.)

By the way, did you see the poll a week or so ago where Huntsman got 1 vote in the whole state of Iowa? Not 1%. 1 supporter. Huntsman then decided not to compete in Iowa, arousing the wrath of Vander Plaatz (Tea Party guy). Even if Huntsman were to pull out the nomination in the end, he's managed to deeply annoy the GOP in Iowa, a swing state that still remembers Giuliani's snub in '08.

That's partisan horse droppings. There's nothing with serving as an ambassador and then running for President.

Now you're just trolling. I take back anything good I had to say about MINORITY LEADER Pelosi.

No, I wasn't trolling. I do think he made a tactical error in choosing not to campaign in a swing state. I also think he would be a better candidate than Romney. Huntsman has fewer flip flops on his record. Huntsman has some views that are not popular with segments of the population of Iowa, but in my opinion he would get integrity points by campaigning and losing. He could then come back (if he got the nomination) and ask for people's support. That will be much harder to do if he snubs the state.

Why can you not (at least you last two posters) recognize that DC politics is a sick game, and indeed is a weird culture onto itself - one that precludes any chance of meaningful reform?

Seriously, the Dems vs. Repubs argument is for dopes. The system itself is completely FUBAR, regardless of which party happens to be hosting the shing-ding.

They'll just switch hats and the wheel goes 'round and 'round.

If that sounds overly-simplistic, I don't know what to tell you. It is what it is.

Good work. I was irritated with Ya-Ta and now I'm totally over that.

Tell me how and why I'm a dope, again? Because I see a little hope elsewhere than Obama?

That stance is self-fulfilling. If the voting base simply accepts Washington is impossible to reform, it will in fact be impossible to reform it. If on the other hand the electorate genuinely stood up and demanded better, they'd get better.

A better characterization of Washington, I think, is that it's a place where the extreme elements of the American character at large are reified into something tangible. Its perversions are not alien, but rather exactly the opposite: they are nearly fundamental.

Whoosh........

I guess I just stamped my own exit pass from Dave's CE forum as I can't waste my time playing political pocket-hockey, and frankly it's a little depressing to see such a collection of high-caliber brains rub their collective asses all over the carpet.

Take care, all. I'll tell Mises ya'll said "Hi".

Its overly simplistic, and as Fox said, self-fulfilling.

Well, sorry to see caniff go.

I was offended, though. He implied that I was a partisan Republican. It really annoyed me.

Ugh... That right there is why I can't watch Stewart any more. That first minute was disgusting. Only evil people would bother with a story of a US Congressman tweeting erotic photos of himself? Come the f*** on.

Why would I be sarcastic about that? Stewart is frequently heavily biased towards Democrats and liberalism; this time it was just especially obvious.

That's not to say I don't enjoy watching him embarrassing O'Reilly during his Factor visits; that never fails to entertain.

Well, there are a number of reasons....(enter sarcastic points)....

1. You must be a racist.
2. You must be a neo-con
3. Bush lied

...goes on and on.

There are those on the CE forum who don't like dealing with facts and common sense........only blind ideology.

Since you are not one of those, you will be stereotyped.

Creepy congressman Anthony Weiner's junk has hit the Web.

Two days after the pervy pol admitted to sexting a half dozen women and lying about it, a photo of what Weiner was bragging about to the girls has gone whizzing through the blogosphere.

It happened after conservative blogger Andrew Breitbart made the mistake of showing off the photo on his cell phone to Sirius XM shock jocks Opie and Anthony.

Breitbart, who claims to have gotten the photo of Weiner's wiener from one of the congressman's computer "sexting" conquests, Meagan Broussard, had been reluctant to release it.

But as he was passing his cell phone around, the in-studio video camera was on.

"Wasn't until @AndrewBreitbart left the studio that we realized what was captured on our video camera," Opie Tweeted.

Seconds later, Weiner's business was on the web.
