Not a bad suggestion at all. If the OP's budget can stretch to that Epiphone it would be a good investment. I'd suggest taking a look at some of the Ibanez semi-acoustics/hollow bodies. I have three Ibanez guitars (one acoustic, one semi-acoustic, and one electric). They sound fantastic and are generally reasonably priced.
