Most places(in the States) these days use computers for printing--it confirms right there if the prints are readable, so you don't have to worry about smudges.
Be sure to use a "valid" ID though; I used my drivers license the first time, but had to go back and use my passport for ID because I don't live at the address on my license anymore. |

Get a Korean friend and go to a "gu" police station and they will do it for free.
I've had it done in two "gu" offices in Seoul already. |
