| I work at an elementary school in a small town and have my girlfriend over all the time. I even say to my students when they ask "What did you do this weekend?" as part of the beginning class discussion that "My girlfriend stayed with me this weekend." My mentor teacher never said anything about not having someone live with me all the times I've mentioned it. During the winter she was here a few weeks straight without even going back home. |

That is the issue you need to check on OP.
The appartment occupancy rules. So, talk to your landlord or employer about this before bringing him over. |

Epik is rural town..  so just think about this as it wouldn't even be an acceptable thing to do in Seoul

1. EPIK is not rural town. It just eans everywhere not SMOE or GEPIK. Yes it can be rural but it can also be decent sized towns/cities too.
2. Wouldn't even be acceptable in Seoul? Basically shut up. I live in CheongJu and I know several couples who've lived together as well as knowing a couple in ChunCheon who live together.

Why wouldn't you just say "I did things with my girlfriend"? Why would you have to point out that she stayed with you for the weekend?
This is impolite in ANY society. |

I agree. I teach in a farming town of probably less than 1500 people (my school, kindergarten to grade 6 has about 85 students this year). Nobody seems to mind. I think they would care even less about a foreigner-foreigner couple. My relationship is with a Korean girl and maybe older people would make judgments about her in their heads.
The great thing is that you don't have to really care what these people think. I mean even if someone expressed disapproval, why would I care what an old farming guy who barely completed elementary school thinks? The conservative people are generally much older. Am I really going to get upset over the opinion of a woman whose sum total of skills and knowledge she has accumulated over 50 years has led her to wiping floors on her hands and knees for an income?
BTW, no disrespect to these people--they are all really nice to me. But you could frame it that way if you were scolded. |

Hmm, both of those statements would be very strange IMO. Why would anyone want to imply they banged their girlfriend to a class of kids? Why not just make up something like "I went to the Cinema with..." or "I hung out with..." etc |
