Get a D10 visa.
It means you have to wait in Korea until you get your new ARC but then you are free to travel and then return and switch back to an E2 without the hassle of new documents.

Thanks! A few more questions... Do you know how long it takes to get a new ARC? And how early can I apply to switch my visa? I think I read 7 days somewhere. Do you know if that's 7 days, or business days? Also, is there any way to leave without it? I'd like to travel most of the month and book my tickets in advance, rather than wait for my ARC to show up and then book. Again, thank you for your help! |
7 days before the end of your contract or any time after your contract ends and before your ARC expires (ARC must be valid when you apply).
2-3 weeks to get your new ARC.

Sorry to keep hounding you! Here's what I got- my contract ends June 29th, my visa expires July 8th, and my ARC expires July 22nd. The goal was to travel around Asia the first few weeks of July. If I left for travel and came back say on the 20th and then applied for the D-10 would that be okay? Or not because my Visa would have expired? Or could I apply for the new ARC/D-10 and then leave and come back and get the new ARC? But would that even work because my Visa would have expired and I would have left the country?
Ugh. details, details.. |
