I've had jobs which supplied the ticket for me, and ones which allowed me to do my own booking (much better).
Korean Air / Asiana is still better than any American airline, but they seem to sneak in codeshares with Air Canada if you are going to Canada. My other gripe is that at certain times the flights are half filled with sugar-crazed Korean children going to English camps.
My favorites are Singapore Air and Eva. If you must have a stopover, Narita is fine but I think I'd rather canoe to Korea than stop off in China again. |

Yes, Koreans do take a lot of pride in Korean Air.
However, most of the time you will book your own flight and the school will reimburse you. Is that not true in your case?
I booked my own and flew Southwest from ORD to SFO, then Singapore Air from SFO to ICN. Love Singapore Air. |
