Sorry I'll clarify.
I am not trying to catch anyone in anything. I mentioned that my friend was told by her school that they will keep her because she was not told 2 months in advance about being let go.
I was askng if such a rule really existed because:
1) If it did, more people should know about it.
2) If it didnt, I wanted to tell my friend (almost none of my friends use Daves) that she probably should still consider her job as good as gone, despite the promises her school is making to her.
March 2012 was mentioned because that is suppossedly when GEPIK will have money to hire teachers again. So I think the document was saying that schools should foot the bill or wait until the next intake period if they want a shot at GEPIK money. |
No such rule exists.
If you(general you and not specific you) have a signed contract you are pretty much good to go unless you violate some law or policy.
If not then don't assume anything...even if the school makes promises.
Many a "teacher" has been caught short...simply because the school says something without checking with the POE/local office of education first. |
gotcha! Thanks - that what I was thinking. |

They typically give you the amount of time outlined in your contract. The older contracts said 2 months, some newer GEPIK ones say 1 month. |

| Does anyone really think GEPIK will have funding again in March 2012? It seems to me like the program is toast and hoping funding will be renewed in 2012 is a prayer on their part rather than something that is realistic. |

It's anyone's guess. I have heard that some schools are assuming the GEPIK program is finished and that Gyeonggi province will be added to EPIK terrority. |

Highly unlikely. The government just destroyed what's left for the public schools. |
