When I changed money at Incheon I had 900k won. I'm sure it was about 5 or 6 weeks until I got my first payment and I had less than 50k left at that point. There were a few unexpected expenses in the first few weeks. Realistically if I came over with less money and knew I had to make it last I could have made my money go further. I didn't think I'd spend 500 so quickly though
You shouldn't rely on this, but if you make friends early I'm sure someone would help you out if you run out of cash. Plenty of people are saving money here (intentionally or not) so what's it to them if they lend 100k for a couple of weeks? |

| I had $200. I did nothing my first month though. Just chill in my apartment and watch movies. After my first pay day, I started my social life. |

So lived for an entire month on 210 000W?
I assume you did not have to commute to work and were in walking distance from your school.
They also must have offered you free lunch.
That means that you lived on roughly 7000W (around 7$) per day. |

i first came here with $1100, and with no pay for 40 days. due to the Chuseok holiday and weekends, i had 8 of my first 11 days here off. i spent about $700 that first 11 days. then again, i'm an idiot.
i survived the remaining month or so on 400 bucks, but it wasn't fun. on the other hand, blowing 700 bucks in my first week and a half was fun. |
