| the chick is at fault. yeah it's common courtesy to turn off a treadmill, it's all common courtesy also requires you to be aweare of what's going on around you which would lead to you not doing idiotic things like trying to waltz on to buzzing treadmill. |

"Yeah, I'd love to see a post be just about idiots rather than a nation as a whole."
Yer, speaking of that captain corea, any chance you can change your name to 'the second avenger'? |

are you sure this chick isn't American??
I'm a blithering idiot and because of my blithering idiocy something happens to me, so my first reaction is to look for someone to blame (or sue) |

Perhaps if I wrote in in hangul, but in English it's staying the same.
What does that have to do with this topic? |

and if I can't find anyone to blame for being an idiot and clueless to what's happening around me, then I'll just resort to excusing my innate blithering idiocy on say.. my parents.
They didn't love me enough. Or provide me with enough nurturing as a child.
It's the American way. |

I suppose she could have been Asian American, her Korean was pretty good from what I could hear over the love ballads my gym likes to play. |

I was lying about him being white.
Just tired of threads that start off normal, then the people that dislike Korea come in and ruin everything.
I mean seriously, how one one acts at the gym is a representation of Korea and Korean society? |
I knew you were lying. Because i knew you would react if I said "Koreans often tend to..."
Guys like U are totally nuts because you are hyper-attuned to this idea of racism.
Yes, Koreans have commonalities and generalities. So do Germans and Brazillians, in fact every nation under the sun has a certain national character. Its fun to distinguish things that belong to that character. Its part of the spice and variety of life.
Or would you have us believe that everyone around the world is the same.
Or that there are no negatives or flaws to Korean society, everything is 100% perfect?.
really, its soooo boring to have a bunch of heroic self-righteous fools jump on every comment that even mentions a nationality.. as "racist". Get a life.
Must we really couch everything in ridiculously PC terms to satisfy people like you?

That is if races actually exist. In some ways it might be said (though could easily be unsaid if if it caused offence to anybody at all) " |
So now the sentence is soo boring that nobody will bother to read it. Congratulations. |

Whoa, nobody said anything about racism.
I just find it silly that you equate someone not turning off the treadmill to the failures of Korean society.
Seems like you are hyper-attuned to take a jab at Koreans whenever possible. Considering this was just a thread about a somewhat funny incident that happend to me. |

Im going to buck the trend (well, the two trends - im ignoring the meta discussion), and say its the guys fault.
Its a dangerous piece of kit, you dont leave it unsupervised. The woman is clearly a space cadet to not notice it, but well, sometimes your mind lies to you because you expect a certain pattern of behaviour to repeat itself. In this case, empty treadmill = off.
(or if youre at that dudes gym above who has people wandering away from their machines, empty treadmill = safety hazard).
Theres really no excuse to leave a treadmill running in a public gym when youre not using it... well, once one discludes vanity (since we all like to see the numbers go up and not reset to zero). Since theres no excuse to do it (you can also wipe it down when its not actually moving), and its a danger to everyone else in the gym when its moving and no ones on it, then that pretty much sticks him front and center for the blame (with the gym itself coming a close second for likely sitting around behind a desk or hitting on the only semi hot girl in the gym like my guys do) and the woman coming a fairly distant third). There you go, case closed. Next issue please. |

Ippy,
I'm calling you on that one. In the gym, there is only K-logic, which goes like this. "I don't care about anyone else in the gym. Matters of safety are for losers."
You see, in the gym, K people are in the 'zone.' Whether it's watching TV or checking their facial complexion in the mirror, these gyms rats are into it. So please understand K people. |
