| Thanks for the link... However, just because a few foreigners don't think the Han is that dirty doesn't convince me that it's clean enough to spend an hour in. Sounds fun though... |

I remember reading that Korea has no natural lakes aside from crater lakes*, so if that's specifically what you're after, you're kind of hosed.
* I think I read it on the Wikipedia, so accuracy is not guaranteed. |

A few years ago, I went on a 'white water' (i.e. no actual rapids) rafting trip with, I think, Adventure Korea.
Anyway, it was a section of the Han, up near Gapyeong, and the water was nice and clean. Deep in some places too. We spent a good part of the day just swimming around the rafts. It might work for you. For an exact location, you could Google 'Adventure Korea white water rafting'. Hope this helps. |

That's a rather good idea. I am actually thinking of going camping on Jeju during Chuseok. |

| There was a good article on Korean swimming holes in one of the expat magazines a couple of years ago; wish I'd kept it............ |

So very sad.
http://www.foxnews.com/health/2011/08/15/deadly-amoeba-suspected-in-florida-teens-death/
In a health advisory issued Saturday, state officials said the amoeba proliferates in stagnant freshwater lakes, ponds, streams and rivers when temperatures climb into the 80s. They say people should take safety precautions when swimming, including showering with soap before and after and being careful not to swallow pool, lake or river water. |
