There seems to be lots of bitter folks in this thread. Anyways I got a contract about 10 days ago from the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education, so I'll be going to the September EPIK orientation.
Anyways, if Korea is crappy to work in, what is the "hot" place to work at now? Singapore? China? |

Many newbies think "everyone is so negative, but I'll have only positive experiences" until they actually get to Korea. Then they realize that they should have listened to others who were only being realistic about things. |

I wish you all the best.
You are a perfect example of why I always tell people to avoid public school jobs and to go for hagwon jobs instead.
Public schools will not be hiring again until February and if you are on a waiting list now then I highly doubt that you will get a position. |
get a life, people like you need to go back to america!!! 4- real
it is what it is please go back to your own country, stop polluting korea, morons like you come to korea because you cant get a job in america, or you just, as ghetto as they come. |
WHy are you here, then? |

| I'm in the same boat as you, OP. I've been told by 3 different recruiters that both EPIK and GEPIK are full for this year, and won't have any openings until Spring 2012. I was teaching at a hagwon for over a year, and wanted to go the public school route this time around, but I don't know how much longer I can wait and "hope" that something opens up soon. |

| I am also in a similar situation. I am on the waitlist for Epik, but since it is taking too long, I have requested to have my documents sent back. My recruiter says she has emailed them and waiting for a reply. What are the chances they will send my documents back? |

| According to my recruiter, Epik will not return my documents, even though I have been on their waitlist forever now. |
