If you have an American bank account with a debit card that has Visa on it, just wire your Won into that account. Thailand is full of ATM's on every corner that you can get money out of easily with a debit card with Visa. |
Just remember that you will pay a minimum of $5 per transaction (150 THB) to the Thai bank PLUS whatever YOUR bank charges for international use every time you use it - Oh, and PLUS the cost of wiring the money to your US account. Damn, that's expensive.
Either take a real credit card or take cash.

| What's the maximum you can withdraw from a Thai ATM? In the Phils, most machines with the exception of those from HSBC or Citibank have a limit of 10,000 pesos, which can suck if you need more dough. |

You can withdraw a total of 20,000 Baht per day from ATM's (roughly $660 US dollars). Not all ATM's will give you 20,000 Baht though, you just have to go to another one to get your full 20,000 for the day.

Someone told me the same thing, but someone else told me to just get baht here from a korean bank to avoid a double transaction fee. Is there any way to find out the exchange rates in thailand? Im gonna have to roll over with at least some baht (im landing at night and wont hit the bank up until the next day), my guess is it is cheaper your way, im just wondering why. THanks bud,
