What, no rapeseed oil?

I was offered a choice between 4 things, all typical gift packs. Went with the oil, tuna sucks, no hair on my head renders shampoo in the bath set pointless, and I've got enough vitamins.

My school is so cheap: on Teacher's Day, all the teachers received one gift wrapped tube of toothpaste. Yet, the principal and former vp expect generous cash gifts from all the Korean teachers, especially the ones hired on contract. As for today, I don't know if any gifts were given because I took a sick day. We return to work on the 15th only because Geoje has many DSME and Samsung shipyard workers, so the city agreed that all school kids should have the extra Wednesday off, just like the workers.

I got the spam box last year and protested by keeping the box in my classroom for an entire year, refusing to take it home. So this year I got the box of tuna while everyone else got the spam box! HA! We also got the 100K bonus.

@zyzyfer, dude..

We were given a page with four gift set choices pictured and we could write our names beside the one we wanted. I went for the shampoo/conditioner set. Almost everyone else got the wine.

I have Wednesday off at my international school but not at my hagwon.

Love Chuseok!! Looking forward to sleeping in.

I didn't realize my kids' parents were so generous. I've averaged around a million a year in gifts in my two years at my school.

5 days off and a box set of shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste and soap woot woot! I would've suspected it of being a slur on my awesome hygiene skills but my Korean co-worker got the same gift. Mr. Green

Got the usual set of canned goods and oil.

Just dumped the canned lunch meat on the big pile. I was thinking of donating the lot, but then again it might come in handy in case of a surprise North Korean zombie attack.

Why is this a question every year? Just be thankful for what you have and let it be.
