seriously???

i have to head to japan/china and waste more money on this? what's the purpose of making people apply outside korea? i don't see how it benefits korean immigration in any way. bag of bollocks

hold on...i'm on an e-2 here. is it possible to change over to an F-2 without having to apply from abroad?

If you're on an E2 then there's no need for you to leave the country. You can simply have your status changed at the immigration office. You'll still need all of the same documents though. You only need to apply abroad if you are on a tourist visa.

Didn't know about these rule changes so it's interesting to know.

If the missus and I were to ever return to Korea at some point in the future then I would be best advised to sort out the F-2 in London before we headed over?

Is this a new rule?

I changed from a tourist stamp to F2 when I came back to Korea. This was also my first visa period. The last time I was here I was under SOFA status as part of the military.

Its new since about May 2011


That would explain it. I got my F2 initially in July 2010.
