| Keep an eye out on facebook for the promotion groups KROME and Nexcite. They are both run by gyopos and host parties at clubs and lounges around the city and draw a gyopo-heavy crowd. Answer, LUV, Naked, etc. |

Perhaps anecdotal, but in my experience the gyopo guys I've been friends with have been the biggest hounds I've known. Just sayin'. |

Hey jjajangmyun,
I am not Gyopo, but I believe I understand what you are trying to say, and can shed some light on it. My parents are from a Spanish speaking country, and I was born and raised in the US.
Thus, I know how it feels to be raised between two worlds, and only somebody from those two languages and those two cultures can truly understand that special perspective.

Let me bring up pkang0202�s excellent point again- try starting up a Gyopo group, or planning hang outs. You never know how many people are thinking your same idea. |

Actually i was referring to ALL foreigners in general lol. gyopos and non gyopos. My first couple of months here i was guilty as well, i used the "im korean but from america and can speak english well!" excuse which some girls ate up. |

Gyopos from the U.S. are a dime a dozen nowadays, and many have rightfully gotten bad reps as lying womanizers and shysters. We were a novelty in the 1980s and early 1990s but many Koreans have traveled and lived abroad since then, so the whole "I'm Korean but lived in the U.S." schtick won't work that well nowadays.
I'm a gyopo who avoids gyopos like HIV. |

In Sinchon, try Mike's Cabin and Barfly. The Barfly owner in particular seems to really like gyopos as he is always tossing me freebies when Im there and blowing up my phone about parties on the weekends.
There are also a ton over by Itaewon these days. Contrary to what some here have said they do stand out from the natives quite a bit. They can be overheard yelling into their phones in English to their other english speaking friends to "get yo asses over here yo!" Not sure where specifically they hang but I imagine the same hot spots as other westerners?
In Hongdae, S Club usually draws a decent gyopo crowd as does Club Naked.
In Gangnam they are literally everywhere. I work out in Cheongdam at a place called M Athletic and sometimes it feels like everybody here is a gyopo.
If all else fails you could always try the English books section at Kyobo bookstore! |
