Weird noises come out of my mouth more often.

That's the one I notice most.

I find the opposite is true for me here. For the first year or so I picked up a few Korean habbits but lately I find that I am becoming more Western, like being exceptionally polite to people I don't know, moving way out of the way of people on the sidewalk, ect.. I think its an overeaction to Korean culture and trying to differenciate myself from "them." Hmmm....

You too huh? I've acquired this habit in the army, and now I'm really trying to stop

I spend lots of time in front of mirrors that are in public places. Usually I just preen, but sometimes I pick my teeth.

You said you were leaving Korea quite some time ago.

Decided you liked the place after all?

I bow. To everyone! I was back in the States and in a supermarket with my Mom. We ran into a friend of hers and she introduced me. As I shook his hand, I bowed. Felt like a fool afterward!

As someone who's returned to Canada, I notice that I tend to hustle to the front of every line, but I feel guilty because everyone else is doing the "no, after you" thing to everyone. WORSE... even if I don't have my bus pass ready, I hustle to the front of the bus queue, expecting people who are ready to just push in front of me like "normal" people do. No, they just wait for me, letting me hold up the line, and I feel like a dork.

I've noticed that Canadians (or maybe just Edmontonians?) are really nice. They always say "please" and "thank you" and "good morning!" The downside is, there is violent crime and drugs. Also, the metro cars are messy. Next time I catch young people littering on them, I should get their attention, cross my arms, and hiss through my teeth at them.
