Did i say that? good attempt at trolling and trying to twist my words. But alas you fail, because if you would read (and understand) what i actually stated you would see that what i put before was the point i was making. Kids in america have TOO many freedoms that they TAKE FOR granted. Parents and kids both TWIST the american school system to what THEY want. Having a school system where TEACHERS are AFRAID of the students is not a student, (not saying students should be afraid of teachers either) BUT students SHOULD RESPECT teachers.

Sorry. Should've been more specific though. You made it sound like corporal punishment was a good thing. Students should respect teachers, yes. Then again, I also think everybody should respect everybody. Even teachers should respect their students, which isn't what was/is happening in Korea.

The thing about corporate punishment is that the long-term resentment that builds up ends up negating any immediate short-term results.

Students harboring a grudge can suddenly become very creative...

ok cause it came off different, i by all means do NOT think corporal punishment is a good thing. Spanking/discipling your kids is one thing. but hitting kids in school just builds resentment. Now if a student ever tried to strike you, yeah defend but that happens rarely. Actually at my elementary school, ive seen a couple teachers hit the kids BUT it wasnt anything harsh, one teacher smacked a kids hand cuz this kid kept hitting girls for no reason. Actually a lot of the teachers make them squat and duck walk which i think is HILLARIOUS because the kids fall and dont understand a duck walk
