Being skinny doesn't make a person healthy nor does having a little extra chub make them unhealthy. Those girls on the tread meal that are skinny are probably metabolically unhealthy and those 300-350 lbs lineman in the NFL can still dunk a basketball and do one of the toughest sports in the world everyday and are metabolically healthy.
The media expectations on girls is also projected on to ignorant people like the OP about what is healthy and what is unhealthy. |

| That was so rude of the OP. There is no need to say that to a woman even if she is a bit tubby. I would have thrown a donut across the room and made a sneaky exit while she chased after it. That way she woud have been much happier. |

I didn't say skinny was healthy. If you could actually read, you'd see I said one complain I had was that Korean girls don't lift weights. Which means I think they should. And while there is such a thing as "skinny fat", being obese-fat is still far worse. And those 300lb lineman are terrible unhealthy. You ever see these guys in the off season or when they're on the bench for half a season? Not to mention how bad it gets for them when they retire. |

Yea, those lineman are so unhealthy all they do is eat and do nothing.
Football spring training starts in August and the season goes until Jan. That's six months of actual practice. If they come into training camp out of shape they can and do get cut (Albert Haynesworth) So they have to come into camp ready. Those guys squat 400+lbs, bench 300+lbs, clean 200+lbs for reps, they run -5.5 40's and have verticals of 35 + inches. You can say your average 300lbs person is unhealthy but don't use a professional athlete as an example.
Just because you have a certain weight doesn't mean your un-healthy. Body fat is the judge, not weight.

I'll take a girl that is unhealthy but looks like a model, versus....lets say... a Canadian Women's Hockey player who is physically fit, but looks like she could break me in half over her shoulders. |

Good for you. Looks and weight is what's important anyway right? You must be scared of women who look like they could break you in half. Are you a small man? Do you have small man syndrome? |

If she had replied snottily, or snobbishly...then perhaps the insult in return.
But if she was still being playful, then it seems as though maybe she was looking for a comfortable out - without having to embarrass either of you. |
Hmm, I'd say the comment the woman made is more of a lockdown. If the guy were to say he prefers Korean women, he looks like a jerk, and I can't think of many comfortable outs from that situation because now it's about preferences. Claiming to already have a girlfriend, I suppose? Being self-deprecating? Saying you're gay?
But I do agree, it was a pretty terrible way to reverse it. Especially when an ex-chubster is belting it out. |

Bit of a *beep*-ish remark to the gal.
I do see where you're coming from, though. Being of poor
health is a choice. Most people in the world are of poor health.
Methinks people should stop supporting the magazines, advertisements, television, movies, music that perpetuate a sometimes unrealistic image of what men and women should be. You can only blame yourselves about feeling poorly of your image while you stuff your face with pork skins and peruse those trashy rags portraying the 'ideal' looking person.
Also, you are what you eat. Easy. You want to look and feel like sh l +e, continue eating it.
Most of those 300+ athletes are in playable shape. I'm sure many of them could lift 2 men, but running a 5 sec 40 and having a 30something inch vert is pushin it a bit. |

Vertical should have said 25+. Here are the stats for the Steelers new lineman at the combine. http://www.steelersdepot.com/2011-nfl-combine-results-offensive-linemen/ The numbers speak for themselves. These are only the O-lineman. The D line guys are typically 20-30 lighter and faster.
These guys aren't paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to be big slobs. I have seen numerous large guys that can't and don't do what these big men do. Thsi is why not every 6'10 guy plays in the NBA and not every 300 lbs man is in the NFL.
I'm 6'3 285 and in good health. Do I need to lose weight? Yes. But I'm not in the NFL because I'm too slow and not strong enough. I had a chance to play college basketball but 2 knee surgeries close those windows fast.
These guys are the minorities of big men and are in a very elite class of athletes. I just think he shouldn't have used the pro athletes as an example.

troll much?
Seriously you write all that just so you can highlight that you turned down a girl because she was bigger or weighed more than you? BRAVO, sir.
A wise man thinks before he opens his mouth and before he judges, a stupid man opens his mouth to show how full of crap he is. Guess which one you fall under? lol
Also, I see nowhere that she called you a racist, just because she asked "so youre only into asian girls?" Next time just call your post "Troll Rant", that will save us all the trouble! |

I think that's from the nature of the game. The skill positions are amazing athletes and have bodies that most would die for. However, the average life span of an NFL player is 58. The elite athlete life expectancy is 67 while the average person is somewhere around 76. The quarterbacks and recievers have a little longer life than the guys who hit and get it every play and practice. The kickers who barley get touched are gonna live longer.
Football is one of the most violent games out there and that is a huge factor in them passing early. But the habits of many of the players after their career is done is what gets them in trouble. When they're playing they are in very good condition. Any athlete stresses their body to maximum limits. Recently there have been some HS basketball players die suddenly. Body fat percentage, for many players in the NBA, above 7-8% is considered fat and they would be asked to lose a few pounds. These guys fall into the 67 yr life expectancy and they are 6'7 220 lbs with 7% body fat.
Every sport has a risk even runners put great stress on there bodies while most carry little weight.
Again I had trouble with the OP using a pro athlete in the same psot as his over weight club girl that he shot down. |

When I approach someone and they say "No thanks", I just accept that is probably a good time to end the conversation politely, rather than making speculatory and inherently accusative comments as to why I have been turned down.
Nobody needs to provide a reason for their disinterest.
After all, "No' means no. |
