| Condomania in Hongdae has 12-packs of Trojan Magnums. They're pricey, but you can get them. It is far more affordable to bring a lot from home, or have them shipped to you, though. |

i normally just have one of my military sub-contractor friends get them for me on a base. super cheap there too. the prices here in korea off-base are a joke. and the korean branded ones made in japan are akin to wearing a thick winter coat. |

By the way, can I waltz into a pharmacy and buy a sponge? Do they even sell them here? Also, how much are they, and do they sell them individually or in a pack? |

Once upon a time, I worked at Planned Parenthood in the U.S. If you want to stock up on a U.S. brand pill, it is much cheaper to buy it there than at a pharmacy and they will usually let you buy your whole year's supply at once. Go see them or another low-cost health care provider before you leave.
If you don't want to do that, go to your regular doctor, explain your situation and ask for as many somple packs as they will give you. Most will understand that $30.00 to $50.00 times 12 months is more than a recent college grad has in her pocket and they will try to help you out. I'll bet that you get at least 3 months worth and then you can fill your prescription for another months worth, and before you run out, you can send some money home and have someone pick up the rest of your year's worth and mail them to you.
I personally didn't need any birth control in Korea so I don't know how it works there. Going to the gyno was an interesting experience. They did a sonogram on my uterus and ovaries as a routine measure. Then they told me that they would text the results of my pap smear. They probably did but it was in Hanguel so I couldn't tell. I hope that I don't have cancer! |
Thanks for the advice. I'm sure you don't have cancer! |

I've used Mercilon for over a year and I'm not having any issues.
I'm not going to say that your problems aren't because of the pill, I just wanted to throw in a comment to say it's not the same for everyone! |

Yeah, I understand what you mean. Birth control is totally different for everyone! The birth control that is great for me is a nightmare for other women! |

Just as an FYI--
I was taking Mercilon for about a year now. I had noticed that I suddenly had high blood pressure after taking it, and of course the desire for intimacy has been much lower.
However, I think it's important to let all of you women that this medicine can be potentially dangerous. Naturally, all oral contraception can cause complications, but Mercilon especially does so.
Last month I had two brain hemorrhages and a blood clot in my brain caused by this medication. It was preventing my brain of being able to drain entering blood. Because of this, I now have to take care of this problem, and it's causing my eyes to have double vision. Not only might I have brain surgery, but I might also have to have eye surgery.
I wish I had just gone to get something safer from a doctor for my birth control. Please, please, please! If you know it's making your blood pressure go up drastically, stop taking Mercilon ASAP. |

just from a guys perspective (asking his gf about how it affected her and what not)
she was still sex crazy and same as before the pill. She is 26 and I asked her if anything changed and she said that she doesnt really get super hungry anymore (i usually cook for her at night 3 times a week) but other than that she is fine and always has her super high sex drive.
which is awesome cuz whenever i say "hey babe wanna go cuddle?" she is on it like wolves to a steak haha |
