In defense of Pizza Hut, which is a significant step up from EMart's horrid pizza or the swill that Mr Pizza claims to be edible, I will say that I just ordered a large, 'takeaway' pizza with 'very basic toppings' --pepperoni--last week, and I paid about 13,000 [they give a discount for carryout orders]. Entirely fair price as far as I can tell. Can't match the Pizza School across the street for 5K, but the taste is several notches better  |
Even if you get that same pizza delivered it's only 18,000. For 35,000 I think you have to be getting one of the pizzas that is marketed as being "premium". |

I like the Western chains (Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa Johns, etc..) because they put the pepperoni on TOP of the cheese so that they cook and get a little crispy.
Whereas the Korean places put the pepperoni under the cheese, making them soggy and unappetizing. |

| I haven't been to Pizza Hut in years, but I used to love the cheesy-bites fondue pizzas. Damn that was artery clogging goodness! |

This.
Whil Ham can get away with being under the cheese, Pepperoni and bacon should always be on top. Among vegetables, onions fall under this category as well so they can slightly caramelize. Banana Peppers and Jalape�os might fall under this as well, but that's more of a personal preference whether you want them 'juicy' or 'dried'.
Oh and crust toppers...one thing I like about Korean pizza is that the crust topper wave hasn't hit Korea and so when eating out with friends I am not subjected to the befouled taste of garlic butter and over-Parmesan.
The only two things that should go on a crust should be sesame/poppy seeds or in the case of a deep-dish pizza, some cheese spill over is fine. |

SO disappointed the first time I tried Domino's here and the crust tasted like, well, cardboard. I was really holding out hope for their delicious garlic spiced crusts--used to LOVE those things back in the US. |

As far as western chains here, there's Papa John's which is halfway decent (expensive, but decent) and there's everyone else, which is crap. And what the hell's up with bulgogi and sweet potato puree on everything? That stuff is revolting. 
Plus the other problem I have is that anytime anything imported comes into Korea, the price magically doubles. In NYC people would throw your Papa John's pizza back in your face if they asked you to pay $27 for it. |
